​2013 - present

Taught library and literacy lessons for grades K-5. Utilized available technology for lessons and collaboration (activeboard, ipad, Distance Learning). School webmaster. Implemented positive behavior plan for scheduled classes. Attended regular meetings with other corporation media specialists, director of curriculum and instruction, district technology team, instructional coaches, district literacy team, and the database coordinator .Participated in the Pike Literacy Fair at Pike High Schoo. Co-planned the Guion Creek Literacy Night for families.

Student Mentor- Western Governors University

​2012 - 2013

Provided direct, comprehensive program guidance to assigned students (normally 80-100 students).  Managed students' academic progress according to university policies.  Scheduled students' use of learning resources and degree assessments.  Maintained appropriate documentation of all academic transactions.  Assisted students in their educational planning and progress from initial enrollment to graduation. Identified appropriate learning resources for them to use; and facilitate their use of those resources. Monitored student academic progress, communicating with each student at least every two weeks.  Assisted students in career planning within the boundaries of his or her expertise, and directed students to planning resources in other areas as appropriate.

Library Media Specialist-Greencastle Community Schools

​2005 - 2012

Supervised three elementary schools  and maintained budgets for three buildings. Developed an updated collection policy for the Greencastle Community School Corporation. Worked collaboratively with teachers to develop integrated project plans. Worked with third grade students during RTI time. Attended regular meetings with other corporation media specialists, the assistant to the superintendent, and the database coordinator.
Attended West Central Regional Media Specialist Meetings.
 Published bi-monthly newsletter for parents and students.
 Member of school-wide reading incentive committee.

Teacher Grades 1 & 2-Greencastle Community Schools

​2001 - 2005

Organized daily lesson plans and activities .  Structured classroom activities for Four Block education model. Worked closely with fellow teachers and administrators to ensure student success
Attended staff meetings and in-service trainings. Served on the science textbook adoption committee , the district curriculum committee ,   and the Student Assistance Program (SAP) team.  Modified lessons in all areas to meet the needs of various students.  Communicated with parents to ensure student successes.
